Transition to FSSC 22000 Version 7

FSSC has announced the development of Version 7 of the FSSC 22000 Certification Scheme, aiming to enhance food safety, align with international standards, and support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Key updates include:

  • Incorporating the new ISO 22002-x:2025 series on pre-requisite programs
  • Aligning of the Scheme with the GFSI benchmarking requirements v2024
  • Strengthening the requirements to support organizations in their contributions to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
  • Providing a more defined structure for the division of food chain categories
  • Editorial changes and amendments as part of continuous improvement

📅 Timeline

The publication of Version 7 is expected by the end of Q1 or beginning of Q2 in 2026. Certified organizations will have a 12-month transition period to implement the new version, as stated on https://www.fssc.com/insights/fssc-22000-version-7/.
