TÜV AUSTRIA informs:
ISO 37001:2025 is the second edition of the international standard for Anti – Bribery Management Systems, published in February 2025. This standard provides requirements and guidelines for developing, implementing, maintaining and improving a management system aimed at preventing, detecting and combating bribery.
Main changes identified in the version of the ISO 37001:2025 standard compared to its previous version (ISO 37001:2016):
- Emphasis is placed on anti-bribery culture:
- Greater emphasis is being placed on promoting a culture of integrity and ethics within the organization, recognizing the importance of leadership and commitment at all levels in creating an environment of zero tolerance for bribery.
- Integrating climate action issues :
- The new version includes requirements related to climate change, highlighting the importance of sustainability in shaping a strong culture of compliance.
- Managing conflicts of interest:
- New requirements are included for the identification, assessment and management of conflicts of interest, ensuring that such situations do not affect the integrity of the organization.
- Role and responsibilities of the Anti-Bribery Function:
- The roles and responsibilities of the anti-corruption function are clarified and strengthened, ensuring that it has the necessary independence, resources and powers to operate effectively.
- Harmonization with other ISO standards :
- The terminology and structure of the standard have been aligned with other ISO standards, facilitating the integration of the anti-bribery management system with other management systems, such as ISO 37301 for compliance management systems.
It should be noted that relevant instructions are expected for the transitional period for mandatory application of the new version of the standard and the expiry date of certificates with its previous version.
