5S Methodology
Detailed Description
The 5S method, originally devised and implemented by the Toyota Motor Company, is based on the usual practices of cleanliness and tidiness in the workplace through the five principles of:
- Sort (Seiri),
- Set (Seiton),
- Shine (seiso),
- Standardize (seiketsu) and
- Sustain (shitsuke).
It is a standardized method that, when properly applied, creates and maintains an organized, safe, clean and efficient workplace.
It improves visual inspection and makes any process non-conformity obvious and easily detectable.
It reduces many forms of waste, reduces excessive movement and waste of time, everything has a place and a place for everything, improves safety, improves efficiency.

What does the Training Program provide ?
Purpose:
- The purpose of the program is to train relevant business executives regarding:
- the understanding of concepts, principles and practices in matters of organizing factory and professional spaces according to the principles and directions of the 5S methodology.
- the recognition of the importance of the organization of factory and business premises for every business and the benefits that derive from its implementation.
- the training in the way a 5S “culture” is methodized and implemented in the company and, familiarization of the staff in matters of orderliness, tidiness, safety at work, process quality, workflow and time utilization.
- the adherence of employees to a framework of “continuous improvement” (continuous improvement)
- the full utilization of the company’s available resources (materials, people, time, spaces, equipment, etc.)
- the development of a mindset of improving “competition” and a climate of recognition of efforts
- the development and further improvement of the spirit of discipline by everyone at work and the correct application of the processes.
