According to Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, Annex IX, EC Type-Examination is a procedure where the Notified Body ascertains and certifies, through examination and tests, that a machine model and its technical documentation satisfy the Directive requirements.
The EC Type-Examination Procedure applies for the machinery set out in Annex IV of Directive 2006/42/EC.

Compliance with the conformity assessment procedures is the responsibility of the company designing and manufacturing the lifting machinery, or its authorized representative.
