ISO 39001 specifies the minimum requirements for a Road Safety Management System. Governments, road authorities, safety groups and private companies have worked together to develop such a standard, due to the increase in the number of people who are killed or injured on the road each year.
Any company committed to improving road safety will benefit from implementing ISO 39001, as will anyone else involved in road safety, as this approach aims to make our roads safer for all those who use them.
This new introductory program will introduce you to the basic concepts of OA, explaining the benefits of a OA Management System, and describing the requirements of the ISO 39001 standard.
In incidents related to OA such as serious accidents and deaths, the responsibility of reducing and minimizing the risks belongs to the organizations involved in the road traffic systems as well as to society as a whole.
In addition to the unacceptable human cost consequences, there are also economic ones, which concern road workers, vehicles, road users and emergency medical services.
A Management System based on the ISO 39001 standard can provide any organization with an international best practice framework for managing the responsibilities and interactions of a road traffic system.
